Dr. Isabel Wyss

Dr. Wyss is a fourth-generation SE Portlander who attended Duniway Elementary School, Sellwood Middle School, and Cleveland High School. She received a B.A. Cum Laude in Art History from Wellesley College in 1990. After pursuing a career in the arts, including a year-long stint at Christie’s Fine Art Auctioneers in London and a position in Research, Development and Design at Nike, Inc., she changed course to follow her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and in 2008 obtained certification in veterinary acupuncture (CVA) through IVAS (the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society). She worked full-time at Hawthorne Veterinary Clinic in SE Portland for two years before establishing her house call practice.

Dr. Wyss is a member of the Portland Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and is a former board member and current volunteer for Portland Animal Welfare Team (P.A.W. Team), a non-profit that provides veterinary care for pets of people in poverty. She has also provided voluntary and discounted services for Pixie Project and the Oregon Humane Society.

Dr. Wyss lives in SE Portland with her husband, daughter, and three cats.
